During data meetings everyone participated in a School Walkthrough to take a close look at our environment. What did you notice from our school walkthrough? What changes are you planning to make to your classroom or hall displays that will reflect our school goals? Students develop ownership and pride in their school when they see their work is the main focus of the school. When processes and standards are posted beside the school work, the hallways become a second teacher.

I am planning a design on a dime makeover for the 5th grade lobby. I would like this space to be warm and inviting with a retro pop! Since the costume parade on Friday, I have been trying to think of ways to integrate the 21st century skills with school-wide events. Do you think we could incorporate the 21st century skills (critical thinking and problem solving) and a grade level COS objective with the deck the hall initiative? I know it will be a lot of brainpower but I think we should establish an academic purpose for each school-wide event.
